Warren’s Bookstore started with a simple idea. If you have something worth sharing, why not put it into words?

I’m Warren. I’m a passionate gardener, a writer, and someone who has always enjoyed learning, trying things out, and sharing what I discover.

After retiring, I found myself with more time to spend doing something I have enjoyed for many years: gardening. What started as a hobby gradually became a much bigger part of my life.

Over the years, I tried different things in the garden, made plenty of mistakes, learned what worked, and learned even more from what did not work. I came to realize that gardening is about much more than growing plants. It is about patience, curiosity, creativity, and enjoying the process.

Eventually, I thought I should write some of this down.

That was the beginning of The Idea of Gardening.

From Gardening to Writing

Writing my first book was not something I had planned for years. It simply seemed like the next thing to do.

I wanted to share the things I had learned, but I also wanted the book to feel personal. Gardening should be enjoyable, and I did not want to write a book that felt like a set of instructions.

I wanted to share my experiences, the things I have learned along the way, the mistakes I have made, and the little discoveries that make gardening so enjoyable.

That became The Idea of Gardening.

I was really pleased with the response from readers. It was wonderful to hear from people who had enjoyed the book, learned something from it, or simply found a new way of looking at their own garden.

That encouraged me to keep writing.

More Than Gardening

Although gardening is where this journey began, it is not where it ends.

Warren’s Bookstore is really about ideas. Some of those ideas come from gardening. Others come from writing, publishing, everyday life, and the many things that catch my attention along the way.

I am already working on my next book, The Idea of Publishing, and I have plenty of other ideas that I would like to explore.

There is something I quite like about calling them The Idea of...

It gives me the freedom to follow my curiosity and write about subjects that interest me.

Why Warren’s Bookstore?

I have never believed that books need to be complicated to be useful or enjoyable.

A good book should teach you something, make you think, give you a different perspective, or simply make you smile.

Sometimes it can do all four.

That is what I hope to achieve with the books I write.

Whether you are a keen gardener, someone interested in writing and publishing, or simply someone who enjoys picking up a book and discovering something new, I hope you will find something here that you enjoy.

A Little About Me

I am Warren, a retired gardener who somehow ended up becoming a writer and publisher.

I never started out with a grand plan to create a bookstore. I had an idea, decided to give it a try, and discovered that I really enjoyed writing and sharing what I had learned.

One book led to another idea, and that idea led to another.

And that is really how Warren’s Bookstore came about.

I am not sure exactly where this journey will take me next, but I am enjoying finding out.
